Scrapbooking
Feb 21st 2007MargeCraft & scrapbooking
I have always had an interest in carding making and crafting, but it is only recently that I discovered scrapbooking. Essentially scrapbooking is about taking photos and the like and presenting them in a beautiful way in a scrapbook using fancy papers, embellishments, and stickers. I also like to use rubber stamped images too.
After late Aged Grandfather Of Marge passed away last year, Retired Father found masses of family photos and mementoes. Some of the photos date back possibly to 1890 and there are others from the early part of the 1900s. As we are not photograph album fans really, I asked if I could put some of the photos into a scrapbook instead. Retired Father was delighted with this idea and I was keen to get going.
Now I mainly had card making equipment and no actual scrapbooks so inspired by a Dawn Bibby show on QVC, I took the plunge and bought a scrapbook kit (which came complete with 2 scrapbooks,( 1 large, 1 small), papers, stickers, letters, vellum sentiments, and ribbon). It was an investment but the good thing is all the items match colour and style wise. I think in future I will have the confidence to put my own scrapbook kit together.
Anyway, I have been making a small scrapbook for a relative and thought you might like to see this page of late Aged Grandfather Of Marge. It was taken in the 30s and the text says ‘Hooray for Harold Lloyd’ as everyone said he used to look just like him!
