The Jewish festival of Chanukah is rapidly approaching (starting on the eve of ‘25th Kislev’ or you might know it as ‘4th Dec’, and lasts for 8 days), where we commemorate the miracle of the oil.
Essentially after winning a long battle against the odds (a miracle in itself), the Jews went into a ransacked Holy Temple to find only one small bottle of oil. This oil was needed to light the menorah, however one bottle would normally only last one day.
The Temple was cleansed and rededicated (Chanukah means dedication), and the miracle of the oil happened - where the little bottle lasted for 8 days.
